Ombudsman
The Ombudsman listens to issues referees have and when appropriate advocates
them directly to the Oregon Referee Committee.  These include disputes, concerns,
problems and real and perceived injustices.
If requested by a referee, the
Ombudsman will treat communications with the referee as confidential and will
maintain the anonymity of the referee with respect to any advocacy regarding an
issue raised by the referee.
The Ombudsman is elected in even-numbered years by
all referees with grades 5, 6 and 7 and thus is independent of the normal reporting
structure.

Craig Hill is Ombudsman.  Craig has been a USSF soccer referee in Oregon
since 1980.  A Grade 5 Emeritus referee, he fell in love with soccer when he
began playing in 1966 (a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away).  Besides
refereeing, Craig is an assessor and loves working with and teaching young
referees.  In his professional life, Craig works as the Director of Sales for
Technocom, Inc.  He lives in Portland with his wife Anne and their yellow lab
Lina.  Craig encourages all referees to get a hold of him if they want to discuss
their soccer careers and observations about the state of refereeing in Oregon.
