The Oregon Referee
Committee regularly organizes classes in locations
throughout the State of Oregon for people wanting to become referees,
often at the request and with the support of local soccer clubs.
Also, from
time to time the ORC has classes for people who want to become
registered
referee assignors.
These
are the types of classes which the ORC conducts that can lead to
registration with the
USSF:
- Entry-Level Grade 8 – If
you successfully complete this class, pass the written test and
register with
the USSF, you then will be
a Grade 8 USSF referee, able to act as an assistant referee and as a
referee in games
sanctioned by the OYSA, the OASA and all similar USSF youth and adult
affiliates
around the country. You normally have
to be at least 13 to take the Entry-Level Grade 8 course,
but you can request the
State Director of Instruction to consider waiving this requirement in
special
circumstances.
- Recreational Grade 9 – If you
successfully complete this class, pass the written test and register
with
the USSF, you then will be
a Grade 9 USSF referee, able to act as an assistant referee and as a
referee in youth recreational games U-14 and below sanctioned by the OYSA and
all similar USSF
youth affiliates around the country.
- Assignor – If you
successfully complete this class, pass the written test and register
with the USSF,
you then will be a
registered USSF assignor, able to assign referees for any association,
club or
tournament that is
sanctioned by the OYSA, the OASA and all similar USSF youth and adult
affiliates
around the country.
